Let’s read Romans chapter 1!

Romans chapter 1 has 32 verses. It denotes the inception of Paul’s (formerly called ‘Saul’) ministry to the Gentile believers. The term ‘Gentile’ just denotes a non-Jewish person. The Jews were the children of the promise, by birthright and descent from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They were the only chosen people of God, before the New Testament age, when Christ came to the world. Christ’s own ministry was to first declare the gospel (Good News) to the chosen race (by matter of inheritance and birthright), after which the gospel was to be declared to the Gentiles, so that what Christ declared in John 10:16 may be fulfilled. God wants us all to come into the one fold. The Church. The Gentile believers are automatically predestined and called to God’s chosen race by means of Christ’s redemption by faith. Amen

We see the truth regarding the purpose for which we were created. We see Paul declare this with joy! “Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus.” O Lord separate us from the desires and corruptible ambitions of our flesh. Help us, like Paul, to rejoice in the fact that we can be your slaves. A people purchased by your redeeming power and unto your Glory. Amen.

You may read the 1st chapter of Romans on your own, and then return to read through my summary which follows after this paragraph. Feel free to add your own revelations in the comment section. I would love to read them as well.

We thank God for the testimony of Christ. He is and was God, yet He became man, bringing divinity to humanity, so that we, the fallen ones, may be brought from humanity to divinity. Christ is the first God-man, and we as God’s children, joint heirs with Christ, can attain to the status of God-men, as well. However, we must have the resurrection power of Christ dwelling in us. It is this resurrection, according to verse 4 that causes our designation by the Spirit of holiness as children unto God.

Verse 12 is really wonderful and it declares what the actual church-life should look like. “… that I with you may be encouraged among you through the faith which is in one another, both yours and mine.” Christ designated us as priests once we accepted Him as our savior, and as such, the Holy Spirit was released into us to mingle with our spirits so that we can contact God and enjoy His riches from within. We all need each other and are encouraged by each other. The faith of God is in every one of us and we are all equally important for God’s eternal purpose. Amen.

Thank God for His gospel. The power of God that gives us salvation. It is such a grace that we can believe into this gospel. We are fortunate. More fortunate than those who do not believe because as they reject God, God gives them up to a mind of depravity. May the Lord help us to keep believing into Him.

Thank you Lord for the testimony of Christ. The gospel. Thank you that we can enjoy you as the richest grace and the sweetest love. Help us to open up our hearts more and more to you, amen.
