Let’s read Romans chapter 11!

It’s been a short while, hasn’t it? Haha. May the Lord strengthen us, amen. Romans 11! We are almost at the end of the beautiful book of Romans. Romans chapter 11 has 36 verses. Through these verses we get to see more of what God has in mind for the chosen people (by inheritance of the flesh), we see the mystery regarding our grafting into the promise and we also see the mystery of Israel’s salvation.

You may read through the entire chapter 11 on your own, first, then return to follow through my summary which follows immediately after this paragraph. Feel free to add your own input based on your own understanding. I look forward to reading them!

We see the foresight of God. He designated Israel as the chosen race, yet He knew that He desired the Gentile believers to be joined into one flock with the Israelites. By the disobedience of the Israelites, God has fulfilled this purpose. Their disobedience and stumbling at the stone of stumbling (which was to acknowledge and believe into Christ) has opened up a way for the Gentiles to become grafted into the cultivated Olive tree. Thank you, Lord.

The misstep of the Israelites has caused the salvation of God to be made available to the Gentiles. This is God’s way, amen. Then, also, if by their disobedience, Gentiles have heard the good news, imagine the fruits that would issue from their obedience. God has not abandoned the Israelites who are Israelites out of the flesh. He has allowed them to be disobedient so that those who were once disobedient (us the Gentiles) may be shown mercy. This is God’s way to establish that all of us, whether natural branches or wild branches, are all disobedient and need salvation.

We must be watchful, working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Cultivating our faith and maturing it, because if God could cast aside those who were designated children of God, the natural branches for their disobedience, we also can be cast aside. Behold the kindness and severity of God.

O Lord, guide us aright. Amen
